Looking for a fun and easy crochet project to add a touch of handmade flair to your summer wardrobe? Look no further than this Summertime Scrunchie pattern! This lovely hair accessory works up extremely quick and if you’re looking for small crochet items to sell at markets this is perfect for you!
First lets talk a little about the yarn. For my scrunchie I used Linendale Reflections from King Cole. This is a newer yarn so they sent me a couple balls as samples. I loved the colors so I came up with a quick little project to give it a try. First the colors are so beautiful! They have a subtle variation which I love. The yarn is a blend of cotton and linen that is light weight and has a wonderful drape. While I used this yarn for a small accessory it would be a great choice for a larger summertime project like a tee or light weight cardigan.

- Round 1: Chain 1, extended single crochet (esc) in each chain around. Do NOT join.
- Rounds 2-10: Esc in each stitch around.
- Seaming: Turn the tube of fabric so the wrong side is facing out. Bunch up the tube and place your hair tie around it. Slip stitch the last round of stitches to the starting chain. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Tips:
- Use a stitch marker to keep track of the first stitch of each round.
- If you want a fuller scrunchie, work more rounds. For a smaller scrunchie, work fewer rounds.
- You can also chain more to begin with to make the fabric more full but not necessarily bigger.
