I originally designed the Piper Pouf crochet pattern for Blueprint using their signature yarn line. This yarn is no longer available but a good substitute would be Brava and Chroma from We Crochet.

Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet
Dec = decrease (instructions below)
Notes
This pouf is worked with 2 strands held together throughout in 3 sections. The increase section, the straight section and the decrease section.
The bottom is made separately. This is a disc that holds the stuffing in but can be easily removed so the contents can be taken out and the pouf can be washed.
Gauge
Gauge is not critical for this pattern.
The pouf should measure approx. 9” in diameter after round 12.
Special Stitches
Decrease (dec): Insert hook in the first stitch indicated, pull up a loop, yarn over, insert hook into the next stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 3 remaining loops.
Stripe Pattern: To work the stripe pattern change color every round, do not fasted off, carry the yarn inside the pouf as you work.
To change color work to the last step of the last stitch before the color change, complete the last pull through of the stitch with the new color.

Finishing
Block the pouf (throw it in the wash to set the sts) weave in all ends. Stuff your pouf as desired, use the bottom to “close” the bottom of the pouf. You can simply set the bottom disk in the hole of the bottom of the pouf or if you’d like it more secure you can add some buttons or snaps. Depending on what you stuff with you may even find the bottom isn’t necessary.
