Sandstone Cowl Free Crochet Pattern
The Sandstone Cowl is a simple free crochet pattern. This cowl is a shawl/cowl hybrid. It’s great for people who love the look of shawls but have a hard time wearing or styling them. I love that all the bulk is in the front. It keeps you warm with out the awkward bulk behind your neck.

This pattern uses less than 100g of yarn and only uses one simple stitch so you could easily work it up in a day or evening. I love making little cowls like this with new to me yarn. It gives me chance to use the yarn and really see how it feels against the skin. Luxury Merino DK from King Cole does not disappoint! It’s so buttery soft and light weight. I can’t wait to use it again!
This pattern is ready to dive right in. Gauge isn’t critical but will be measure after row 8. So there’s no need to do much prep. The only thing you might need to learn first is the extended single crochet. Scroll down for written instructions and a video tutorial meant to be used with the pattern.
