Trio Shawl Free Crochet Pattern

The Trio Shawl Free Crochet Pattern is so easy! If you love stripes but hate weaving in those ends like me then you’ll love this pattern. I’ve designed this pattern so you’ll get all the wonderful stripes but no extra ends to sew in at the end.

For this shawl I’ve used Naturally Soft by King Cole. This is a newer yarn and I absolutely loved it!. It’s mostly BFL wool with a bit of cashmere and the combination of the two is wonderful. This luxury yarn so soft (hence the name) and I adore the color selection. I chose these three jewel tones knowing I was going to stripe my shawl. King Cole Naturaly Soft (90%Blue Faces Leicester Wool/10% Afghan Cashmere; 207yards/50g; fine/4ply/sock weight)

1 skein of color A (Midnight Blue)

1 skein of color B (Mulberry)

1 skein of color C (Teal)

Hook

G+/4.5mm mm hook (or hook to obtain gauge)

Abbreviations

Ch = chain

St(s) = stitch(es)

Sc = single crochet

Dc = double crochet

Notes

Read all instructions before beginning.

Follow the stripe pattern for the entire shawl.

If you’d like a larger shawl you will need more than one skein of each color.

Gauge

Gauge us not critical for this project.

Stripe Pattern: *1 row color A, 1 row color B, 1 row color C; repeat from *, do not fasten off when changing color.

Instructions

With color A ch 2

Row 1: (Sc, ch 1, sc) in 2nd ch from hook, turn. -2 sc

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as a dc), dc in the 1st sc, 2 dc in the ch-2 space, dc in the last sc, turn. – 5 dc

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in the 1st dc, ch 1, skip 2 dc, sc between the last skipped dc and the next, ch 1, sc in the top of the ch 3, turn. – 3 sc

Row 4: Ch 1, sc, ch 1, sc in the 1sr ch-1 space, ch 1, sc in the next ch-1 space, sc in the last, turn. –4 sc

Row 5: Ch 1, sc, ch 1, *sc in the next ch-1 space, ch 1; Repeat from * until 1 sc remains, sc in the last, turn. –4 sc

Row 6: Ch 3, dc in the 1st sc, 2 dc in each ch-1 space across, dc in the last sc, turn. – 9 dc

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in the 1st dc, *ch 1, skip 2 dc, sc between the last skipped dc and the next; repeat from * until 2 dc remain, ch 1, sc in the top of the ch 3, turn. – 5 sc

Row 8: Ch 1, sc in the 1st sc, *ch 1, sc in the next ch-1 space; repeat from * across until 1 sc remains, sc in the last, turn. – 6 sc

Repeat rows 5-8 for a total of 152 rows or until you run out of yarn or to desired length.

Fasten off, block, weave in ends.
