From the Company

What could you do with 5 skeins of yarn in colors shaded from light to dark? Here is your invitation to play! Each DIY Gradient Box contains five 40 gram balls of medium weight, 100% anti-pilling acrylic yarn. That’s plenty of yarn to make a scarf, a cowl, a hat and mitten set, or a baby sweater. But why stop with knitting and crochet? Let the DIY Gradient Box inspire your creativity!

When my yarn came my some got so excited because it was green. He LOVES green! Sadly, I never seem to have green yarn on hand so when he asks me to make something for him I never have the color he wants. He immediately asked me to make him something. He also loves hats so I thought a hat would be perfect.

I came up with the Douglas hat. You can purchase the pattern HERE.  The yarn is anti-pilling so I wanted to test that out. I gave my son the hat to wear for a few weeks and he wore the heck out of it. He even slept in it!

It’s been washed and probably throw all over the playground at school and it still looks awesome! I see a little fuzz but no pilling. The yarn is nice and light and had a great drape after being washed. I really liked it! It would be great for little sweaters, scarves, gloves, hats…I’m even working on a fun shawl with it.
