Baroque Crochet pullover pattern by Kt and the Squid

Introducing the Baroque Pullover! I love the idea of a simple top down sweater. They are fairly quick and require no sewing (yay!). For a while I had this simple idea to add a little detail running down the raglan “seam” to add some interest (I love little details like that) and thus the Baroque Pullover was born!

The pattern is written for sizes XS(S, M, L, 1X, 2X, 3X) with a finished bust of 28″(32″, 36″, 40″, 44″, 48′, 52″). It is designed to be fitted at the bust with shaping to add room for the hips (it’s looser fitting at the bottom). Since it is a top down you could very easily customize the length of the bottom making it longer or shorter if desired.

Recently, I came across The Plucky Knitter and had to try some of their yarn. First of all, the colors they have to choose from are to die for. The yarn itself is just heavenly. For the Baroque Pullover I used Plucky Sweater. Each hank is hand dyed so the variation in color really makes this sweater. Plucky Sweater comes in hanks of 270 yards. It’s 90% merino (so soft!) and 10% nylon (adds strength and elasticity to the yarn). For the pattern you’ll need 4(4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) hanks of Baroque.

  1. Hi – I love the look of your baroque sweater. I am wanting to make something with full length sleeves rather than 3/4. Would it be easy enough to add length on? I assume it would be best to decrease a bit as well for a better fit. Any help/advice would be appreciated! – Hannah

    1. Hi Hannah!
It should be pretty easy. All you would have to do is keep going until they are the length you want. Then add the trim to the bottom. There are some decreases written already. You may be able to continue with them all the way down to the wrist.
