Walkabout Slouch (Free Pattern)

Remember the lovely yarn I received from Red Heart a while ago? Well, I finally had some time to make something with the Reflective yarn. I’ve been wanting to try this yarn since I first saw it pop up so I was really excited to see how it worked up.

Red Heart Yarns

I really like this yarn! Here’s what I made. The Walkabout Slouch.

Free crochet pattern. Walkabout Slouch by KT and the Squid

I figured this hat would be fun to wear in the evenings outside. We live on a highway so cars go by all the time. It’s fun to watch the hats reflect the headlights as they go by. Red Heart notes that the yarn should not be used as a safety item. I did notice the reflective thread is a bit scratchy so I would not recommend it for babies BUT the Squid is super picky about scratchy yarn and she didn’t mind at all. In fact, she LOVED it and so did my son. Both kids have gotten complements everywhere they’ve worn the hats.

Now to the pattern 🙂
