Free Crochet Bow Pattern

This free crochet bow pattern is the perfect accent to hats, bags, hair clips or even shirts. If you’d like to sell finished items from this pattern please do!

You can also experiment with different weight yarns and hook sizes for different bow sizes. I think it would be adorable in a sock weight yarn or crochet thread. 

Materials 
H/5mm hook 

Worsted weight yarn: samples are done in Brava from WeCrochet

Yarn needle

Scissors

Abbreviations
St = Stitch

Ch = chain

Sc = single crochet

Hdc = half double crochet 

Measurements
Finished size is approx. 3 inches by 2.5 inches 

Notes
Read all directions before beginning.

You can easily adjust the size by chaining any number of chains, using a different weight yarn and or hook and by working more or less rows.

Ch 16

Row 1 – Sc in 2nd ch from hook and every ch across. (15)

Row 2-5 – Ch 1, turn, hdc in same st and every st across. (15)

Row 6 – Ch 1, turn, sc in same st and every across. (15)

Fasten off, weave in ends.


Cut a long length of yarn. Find the middle of your bow, wrap the yarn around once and tie a knot.

Continue to wrap the yarn around the middle of the bow as neatly and evenly as you can until you are happy with the results.  Tie a knot at the back of the bow and fasten off (sometimes I add a tiny dot of glue to make sure the knot holds).
Sew onto a headband, a hat, purse, scarf…whatever makes you happy!
